Goodwill Industries urges Congress to support legislation to remove the retroactive language from the Consumer Product and Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), therefore making it applicable to only products manufactured after February 10, 2009, or support legislation that would exclude the secondary sale of children’s products from the CPSIA.

Goodwill Industries urges Congress to support legislation to improve and modernize the JWOD Act/AbilityOne Program to expand opportunities for individuals with severe disabilities and to increase procurement opportunities for nonprofits like Goodwill.
The Workforce Investment Act and Vocational Rehabilitation Act (108 KB)
Goodwill Industries urges Congress to reauthorize the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) this year. Among other things, the reauthorization should improve access to employment and training opportunities for individuals with barriers to work, encourage community-based organizations to operate one-stop career centers, and direct resources toward job training and services for youth with disabilities who are transitioning from special education to adult life.
